Surround.fm goes online!

Our team is happy to announce a full-featured release of our long awaited website. We bought this domain almost a year ago, and since then we tried to organize our thoughts and ideas.

A bit of history…

To cut a long story short, me and Heigo became deeply interested in surround sound while studying at SAE London in 2008/2009. Heigo wrote his final paper on this matter (‘Surround Radio Formats’), I was planning too (‘Surround Sound In Large Spaces’), but at the last moment decided to choose something simpler (you now, how it happens…).

Our plans

Our idea is to make surround sound MASSIVE!  - Yes, we know that Quadraphonic sound failed in the 70′s, and yet we see bright future for surround sound.

We want to build a community of professionals, musicians, technicians, engineers, well, everyone who is interested in promoting surround sound. Our goal is to push the industry to realize the potential of surround releases, events, clubs, engineers etc. Surround sound is NOT only for films or postmodern exhibitions! Surround music is one of the most remarkable experiences that one is able to experience and yet one of the most unexplored.
